James “Jim” Martin Pascoe, son of Doris & Edwin Pascoe, died October 27, 2025, surrounded by family. He was born May 3, 1941 in Highland Park, Michigan. He grew up in Winter Park, Florida, where the family relocated when he was a toddler.
After attending college at High Point University and Florida State University, he joined the Air Force, serving as a radio operator. His military training then led him to Chrysler, General Dynamics, and NASA, where he worked on electrical systems for the first Moon Rover and Apollo 13. His extensive knowledge of complex systems coupled with his magnetic personality allowed him to build a highly successful career in computer software sales/management with Control Data and Intercim. Coming from extremely humble beginnings, he was a self-made businessman whose success was the result of an incredible work ethic, strong moral code, unwavering integrity, and gregarious spirit.
More important to Jim than any accolades or career accomplishments was his deep love for and selfless commitment to his family. He is survived by his beloved wife of nearly fifty-two years, Vicki, and children James “Jeff” Pascoe (wife Kate Seamons and children Julia and Charlotte Pascoe and Eloise and Sasha Seamons); Nicole Pascoe Ream (husband Trevor and children Spencer, Aaron, Barrett, and Milly), all of Greenville, SC; and Jeannie Silver (husband Kevin and children Cameron, Hannah, and Pierson) of Noblesville, Indiana. He was preceded in death by his parents Edwin and Doris Pascoe and sister Connie, and by his in-laws who loved him like a son, Mildred Romine Hanson and James “Jimmy” Hanson, whom Jim cared for in their final days with compassion and tenderness.
Jim never knew a stranger and was a friend to all. He brightened every room he entered and was a generous soul who without hesitation lent his time, talents, or physical possessions to anyone in need. Some of his children and grandchild’s fondest memories are of performing service projects alongside him. He was an avid golfer who played countless rounds with Jeff, from cow pastures to classic courses, and took great joy in watching and coaching his children and grandchildren’s athletic teams. Known as Daddo and “Mr. Fix It” to his adoring grandchildren, his relationships with family were the essential waypoints of what he called a “joyous journey.”
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that donations be sent to Shriner’s Children’s Hospital of Greenville 950 W. Faris Road, Greenville, SC 29605.
