IN THE CARE OF

Mackey Funerals and Cremations at Woodlawn Memorial Park

James Everette Pittman, Jr. went to be with the Lord after passing on February 19th with his beloved wife, Bonnie, by his side. Born and raised in Greenville, SC, he attended Berea High School, where he played on state championship basketball and track teams. He graduated from Clemson University in 1971 and later became a member of the University Board of Visitors in 1987. Following his CU graduation, he had a long career with Fluor Daniel Construction that relocated him to Houston, Texas and Seal Beach, California where his infectious smile and personality made many lifelong friends, before eventually leading him back to Greenville, SC. In 1991, he became a graduate of the Columbia University Executive Program in International Management. He later founded MaintainIT Ltd. in 1997, retired in 2019, and has since served on local boards, including the Bon Secours Wellness Arena.

Jimmy brought great laughter and love to all who knew him. His love for family and friends, humor, generosity, and welcoming spirit made him a friend to all. A passionate Clemson Tiger, American history buff, and skilled storyteller, Jimmy was one of a kind. Of all of his many accomplishments, he was most proud of his family and friends.

He is survived by his high school sweetheart, Bonnie, their two sons, Adam (Leslie), and Zach (Mallory), and five grandchildren, Brynn, Buckley, Gabe, Gus, and Oliver, his sister Sandy Pittman Griffin (Beaver), and niece Amanda Spradling (Phillip), and is preceded by his mother Dorothy Saxon Pittman and father James Everette Pittman, Sr.
