James “Doug” Swafford, Sr., 71, of Easley, died Friday, Dec. 5, 2014. Born in Greenville County, a son of the late Styles and Minnie Stephens Swafford, he was an Air Force Veteran, a retired police officer from the Greenville Police Department; and was also a retired Officer from the Federal Marshall’s Office. Surviving are his wife, Mary Stanley Swafford; 6 step children, Mary Dameron, Cheryl Beckwith, Susan (Jim) Smith, Gene (Becky)Enlow, John (Peggy)Enlow and Mike (Virginia) Enlow; and brothers, Horace and Harold (Dorcas)Swafford, 10 grand children, 7 great grandchildren. He was predeceased by a brother, Ken Swafford. Services will be held 2 pm Tuesday, Dec. 9, 2014 in The Mackey Mortuary Chapel. Visitation will be 6 – 8 pm Monday in the funeral home. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Memorial Park. Memorials may be made to Greenville Human Society.
