Born in Knoxville Tennessee, Joyce was the daughter of Joe and Janet Roberts. She was a graduate of Travelers Rest High School class of 75. After high school she attended Greenville Technical College and went on to work as a paralegal at the Dodson Law Firm. She retired from her family's business, Roberts Stage Curtains.
Lovingly known as Nana Joyce to all who knew her, she enjoyed snow skiing, traveling, particularly to Colorado or anywhere near the ocean, boats, horses, and Willie Nelson. She had a certain affection for airplanes and flying that led her to obtaining her pilot's license. Most of all, Joyce loved her grandchildren and holidays.
Joyce was preceded in death by her mother Janet Roberts. She is survived by her father Joe Roberts, Sister Debbie Pruitt, sons Weyman Dodson and Byron Dodson, daughter Callie Dodson, and grandchildren Abby, Kelsey, Georganna, Gracie, Kaedance, Harrison, Levi, Kynedeigh, Pete, Zander, Kyler, and Evie.
A Celebration of Life for Joyce will be held on October 30, 2024, at Mackey Funerals and Cremations, 1 Pine Knoll Drive, Greenville, SC 29607 at 6:00 PM.
