I (Valerie) met Linda when I joined teaching ESL at MRPC. I was immediately attracted to her "free spirit" aura...her "gypsy" feel, her honest expressions and her "patchouli" aroma, which is mysterious and one of my favorites. I loved that when we spoke, her hand was on my arm and she was pulling me into her space. I am exactly that kind of person, and we clicked. She was dear to me even though we didn't further socialize. I began leading a womens' Bible study at church and Linda attended, and when she walked into the room and the seat next to me was empty because no one wanted to sit next to the "teacher" Linda strode right over to me and sat down. I loved her courage. She made a statement. She and my husband hit it off as well, and whenever he missed ESL Linda was kind to send a message to him through me. She noticed things. We grieve not knowing Linda was so ill...but we respect her choice to be private. When I get to Heaven maybe Linda will find me, pull me close and say, "Now where were we...?" God is blessing Linda every second right now...may He uphold her loved ones with comfort and peace that she is where she is meant to be forever.

Linda sang with us in the Mitchell Road Presbyterian sanctuary choir for many years. She was such an encourager and a kind person. We are so grateful that she shared her time to sing with us and will always remember her loving heart!

We were first cousins. Growing up, we spent times during the summer together. I didn’t even know she was sick, and was shocked to learn of her passing, of all places, on Facebook.
