Lisa was more than my friend: she was my mentor & spiritual mother. She came into my life at my son's  first birthday party; she stayed to encourage & comfort me long after the other guests had departed. That was the beginning of our friendship.  Many a day she took my children and me to doctor's appointments, or to the grocery store. She came to many birthday parties. She always had birthday and Christmas gifts for us.

 She tried to encourage me to eat healthier, to understand my finances & see where the money was going. She encouraged me in loving & raising my children for Christ. She did a few Bible studies with me. She probably felt like it was no better than talking to a brick wall when dealing with me and my problems, yet she never made me feel that way;  she was always patient, loving, & kind.  She always pointed me back to Christ in every situation. She taught me, my control is an illusion. God is the One who is in control, always. I know she loved & prayed for us daily.

To the family:  Lisa saved my son's life when he was about 3 years old.  We were at her apartmentment with her, swimming.  I had gotten out of the pool & into a hammock.  Christian was with me. We were just chattering away with one another.  A few minutes later, he turned & saw Torria & Lisa in the pool. He quickly toddled toward them.  I could not get out of the hammock fast enough to stop him,  so I started calling him, but he paid no heed.  Lisa saw he was headed straight for the deep end, & she started rapidly making her way to him, but not before he walked straight into the pool.  He sank like  rock!  Lisa got there seconds after his plummett & scooped him right up out of that pool.  By the time she had gotten him up and out, I had made it to the edge of the pool to him , as well.  He was spluttering & sobbing, & he came running into my arms.  I hate to think what might have happened had Lisa not been there!  

I am so grateful to her, for so many things! I will miss her tremendously.

Lisa was a wonderful friend and godly woman. The word I think of when I think of her is "faithful."
Even though she often did not feel well, she faithfully came to church and Sunday School and did an amazing job as our Sunday School secretary.  She went above and beyond the call of duty of just taking the attendance and regularly contacted those who were absent, sick or discouraged. Though she was on a fixed income, she was very generous and sacrificial to meet the needs of others and also gave many birthday gifts and Christmas presents to make others feel special. She had several ladies that she took under her wing to give guidance and encouragement. 
She was a dear friend to me and I will miss her greatly.

Lisa always smiled and had a kind word for each of us upon arrival at church.  She exemplified a servant's sprit.  We thank the Lord for her ministry to so many.  She will be greatly missed.  May the Lord give each family member comfort with the knowledge that she is with her Savior.  

Dear Davis Family,

I was saddened to hear that Lisa passed away. I know you are all shocked and devastated. Lori and I will be praying for you in the coming days.  I hope you all will eventually be comforted by your hope in heaven, the anchor for all of our souls.

Lisa was one of my best friends from church and our Sunday School class.  All through the years, she was always so faithful to the class, did the lessons, and was supportive of the teachers and class members.  She kept up with the class records n prayer requests.  She prayed faithfully for my family and cared about us.  She was such a good Christian friend-one I was very proud and honored to have!  My daughters and I are going to miss her so much!  We are comforted as you all are, to know she's in heaven with Jesus now.
