

By the grace of God Lois Dacus Elmore was reunited with her Saviour Jesus Christ on July 26, 2011 and her husband the late William (Bill) Elmore, her father William Doyle Dacus and her mother Gladys Holland Dacus. She is predeceased by a brother Warren Dacus of Maryland, a brother John Dacus of Greenville, a brother Marvin Dacus of Taylors a brother William Dacus of Asheville, NC a sister Ruth Babb. She is survived by James Dacus and his wife Martha Ann of Greenville, Edwin Dacus and his wife Martha of Greenville, NC, Gene Dacus and his wife Sheila Dacus, sister-in-law, Jimmy Ann Dacus of Taylors, Merle Blivens of Travelers Rest and Phyllis Dacus of Fairfield, PA, Norman and his wife Donna Dacus of Greer, Neal and his wife Debbie Dacus of Irving, Texas, a step-son Ron N Elmore of Greenville and 28 nieces and nephews and 48 great nieces and nephews and one great-great nephew. Born in Dacusville Dec. 24, 1920, the first of eleven children, a member of First Baptist of Greer, graduated from Greer High in 1938, attended Draughan's Business School, worked for RP Turner wholesale groceries of Greer and office manager for Hughes Real Estate for 24 years. In retirement she wrote many historical stories and her fond memories of the people and events for the Greer Citizen. In December 2004 on her 84th birthday she was recognized by the SC State Senate "as one of the States sweetest, nicest and greatest historians in our state, a pillar of our community, and a person who makes our country great", a woman whose heart was always a glow with love and a song for her Lord, her family, and friends. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Bible Broadcasting Network, Charlotte, NC 28241. Funeral services will be Sunday, July 31 at 3:30 pm in the chapel of Woodlawn Funeral Home.
