Louise Harrison

Catherine “Louise” Harrison, 87, born in Taylors, SC, passed away May 11, 2015. She was the daughter of the late Marvin Leo and Lucinda Elder Johnson. Louise graduated from Taylors High School. She was a prior member of Stephenson Memorial Methodist and current member of Covenant United Methodist. In addition Louise was an active member and Past President of Greenville Drove 60 BPO Does and Al Ansar Temple Daughter of the Nile - Past Supreme Queen. She was a lifelong service volunteer with civic organizations and the Shriners Hospital of Greenville, SC.

Louise loved her family, church and serving others. She was an avid reader, crafter and seamstress. Louise was a gracious lady and servant of Christ, she will be missed by all she touched.

She was preceded in death by her husband James Furman Harrison, one son Furman Benson Harrison and one sister Betty Johnson Hicks. She is survived by one daughter Cheryl Harrison Hilbert (Jim) of Plano, TX; three grandchildren: Chase Harrison Hilbert (Kristine) of Plano, TX, Garrett Colin Hilbert (Kristin) of Frisco, TX and Pierce Johnson Hilbert and his fiancée Haley Hood of College Station, TX; three great grandchildren Eisley Nicole Hilbert, Eden Kate Hilbert of Plano, TX and Owen Ray Hilbert of Frisco, TX; one nephew Lamar Hicks of Taylors, SC.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, May 14, 2015 at 10:00am at Covenant United Methodist, Greer, SC. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Memorial Park, Greenville, SC.

Visitation will be Wednesday, May 13, 2015 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Woodlawn Funeral Home, Greenville, SC.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Covenant United Methodist Church or Shriners Hospital of Greenville, SC. Please leave a message or story on the funeral home website for the memorial book honoring her life and service as a keepsake for the family.
