Luz Maria Morales Mercado, age 94, of Simpsonville, South Carolina passed away on Sunday, October 9, 2022. Luz was born September 2, 1928 in Ciales, Puerto Rico. She was the daughter of the late Isaac Morales and Dominga Mercado. Luz was a member of Church in Action for All Nations in Simpsonville and a homemaker.
She is survived by four daughters: Adina Rivera, Onelia R. Ortiz (husband- Nisael Ortiz), Olga Maldonado, and Luz Celeste Alvarez; two sons: Ibrahim Rivera (wife-Marisol Rivera) and Eliacim Rivera (wife-Miriam Barreto); seven grandchildren: Ramses Rivera ( wife-Rachel), Erimelec Rivera, Addiel Rivera, Giezel Rivera, Ramces Rivera, Oneilee Rivera Mercado, Jonathan Rivera, and; and 12 great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her husband Ibrain Rivera Seda and her oldest son: Otoniel Rivera.
A visitation will be held Wednesday, October 12, 2022 at Mackey Funerals and Cremations at Woodlawn Memorial Park from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm on Thursday, October 13, 2022 at Mackey Funerals and Cremations at Woodlawn Memorial Park Chapel, followed by burial at Woodlawn Memorial Park.
