Malcolm was born in Greenville and was the son of Marion Theodore and Genie Hyden Floyd. He graduated from Parker High School in 1946. Malcolm began his career at an early age with the US Postal Service and continued while in the US Navy to then retire in 1985 after 40 years of service. He also had a love for sales and furniture thus began his second career in 1969 with Old Colony Furniture Company where he retired in May 2019 after 50 years of service.
He was an active member at Sans Souci Baptist and First Presbyterian churches. He was a devoted servant as both Deacon and Elder and demonstrated such through his active leadership and engagement in many areas of the church.
Surviving are his daughter and son-in-law, Jean and Herb Sharpe of Charlotte, NC, and granddaughter Chandler Sharpe Jones and her husband, Seth Jones of Birmingham, AL.
A graveside service open to the public will be held at Woodlawn Memorial Park,1 Pine Knoll Dr. Greenville, SC 29609 at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, August 17, 2022 with Dr. Pamela Patrick Cole officiating. In case of severe weather, you will be directed to an onsite chapel.
