Martie Elizabeth Lewis Laycock of Greenville, South Carolina, passed away on Friday, July 11, 2025. She was born in Anderson County South Carolina to the late Mr. and Mrs. John Leland Lewis, Jr. Martie was known for her giving heart, her feisty spirit and her life’s mission of helping others. She was of the Baptist faith and an active member of the Millie Perdue Bible Study.
In addition to her parents, Martie was predeceased by her husband, William Laycock, Sr. She is survived by her son, William Laycock, Jr. (Holly); daughter, Linda Laycock Wood (Daniel); grandchildren, Paige Laycock, Hunter Laycock, and Daniel Wood; God-daughter, Christian Hubbs; caretaker/friends, Danny Heil and Brandy Medlin; and special friends, Lillie, DC, Bernie Renee, Hannah, and Brianna.
A graveside service will take place on Wednesday, July 23, 2025 at 11:00 am at Graceland East Memorial Park, 2206 Woodruff Road, Simpsonville, SC. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to VIA Hospice House in Clinton, SC.
