Mrs. Leslie was born April 9, 1939 in Greenville, South Carolina, daughter of the late Charles W. Davis, Sr. and Fannie Mae Evatt Davis. After raising her family, Mary Ellen went back to school to become a Registered Nurse, and worked for many years in the healthcare field. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Oak Island.
Mary Ellen is survived by her husband of 70 years, Harold Leslie, Sr.; two children, Harold Leslie, Jr. and fiancé Angela, and Alison Austin and husband Andy; two grandchildren, Robbie Austin and wife Vanessa, and Sarah Brookins and husband Chris; two great-grandchildren, Ally Brookins and Liam Brookins; and a sister, Annette Hayes.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Charles W. Davis, Jr.
The funeral service will be held at noon on Monday, July 14, 2025 with visitation from 11:00 to 11:45 prior to the service at Mackey Funerals and Cremations at Woodlawn Memorial Park in Greenville, South Carolina.
