Michael George Jensen, 79, of Greenville, SC passed away on December 19, 2017 from Gioblastoma multiforme. Born in Orange, NJ, Mike was the son of the late Axel Georg Jensen and Florence Grace Hodge Jensen. He proudly served in the US Navy nuclear submarine program for twenty-two years, working his way from enlisted to retiring as Commander USN. Mike earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from Purdue University while serving. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He was also an avid model railroad enthusiast since high school and enjoyed working with Habitat for Humanity. In addition to his wife Ruth, Mike is survived by a son, David (Lisa) Jensen of Edwardsburg, MI; a daughter, Lynda Ham of Greenville, SC; and two grandsons, Michael Ham and Jonathan Ham. A memorial service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Habitat for Humanity, or to Open Arms Hospice in Simpsonville, SC.
