Passed away peacefully, surrounded by family and friends on Sunday March 15th, 2026.
In life Michele was a passionate guiding light for all who knew her. While she was born in Philadelphia on March 3rd 1949, Michele always said her life began the day she met her husband Jim Barry. The pair met by chance, in August of 1969 in Madrid Spain, and married 8 months later. Together, they began a lifetime of love and adventure, traveling the world and building a network of friends and family across the globe.
Despite their spontaneous lifestyle Michele found time to do the things she loved. She started a family, becoming a wonderful mother who worked hard to raise her son in ever changing environments. She was an incredible chef who perfected gourmet recipes and planned elaborate meals to share with loved ones. She had a love of dancing and was known at times to call out both her husband and grandchildren for their lack of rhythm. She was a proponent of the arts, taking up painting, enjoying the theater, and even authoring two cookbooks. Michele is survived by her Son Christopher Barry and his wife Anne Barry as well as her two grandchildren Connor and Caitlin.
Having seen the world and loved so loudly, Michele said that she lived “The best life ever”. The memory of her incredible life and spirit will be carried on in the hearts of her friends and family forever.
