Ralph is survived by son Ralph McBride (Jan) of Travelers Rest, SC; daughter Susan McBride Lemmon of Columbia, SC; daughter Holly Traywick (Rob) of Greenville, SC; 6 grandchildren; and 9 great grandchildren.
Ralph was preceded in death by his wife Lucy Holland McBride.
Ralph served in the Army during World War II and was awarded two Purple Hearts and the Good Conduct Medal. He was a long time member of Earle Street Baptist Church. He started his very own family office supply company, McBride Office Supply, in 1956, and retired 60 years later in 2016. He loved to play golf and even went on annual trips with the “Big 8”.
Ralph was a true southern gentleman. He was loved and respected by all. When you sat and talked with him, he centered all his attention on the conversation with you. There was never an unkind word said about him. He leaves behind a legacy of faith and family.
The family would like to thank Ralph’s loving care givers for all of their hard work and dedication: Soha Samra, Almetra Butler, Joann Letman, Interim Hospice Care, and Netra Tolbert. The family would also like to thank Dr. Christopher Carsten for the care he provided to Ralph.
A graveside service will be held on Sunday, July 19, 2020, at 2:00 PM at Woodlawn Memorial Park, 1 Pine Knoll Drive, Greenville, SC 29609.
