

Born on December 14, 1936 in Taylors, South Carolina, he was the son of the late Hazel and Pierce Strange.
In 1965, he opened Ronald Strange Grading Co., which he owned and operated for over 60 years. Ronnie had a big heart and was always there to help those in need. He was a mentor to many, especially young people, as well as a volunteer firefighter. Ronnie was a faithful member of Greenville South Seventh-Day Adventist Church, and a avid attendee of the Greer Dragway since 1958.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Pierce and Clyde Strange.
Ronnie is survived by his beloved wife of 35 years, Betty; his children, Ronnie Strange (Paula), Lynn Long (Ricky), Gina Rowe (Mark), Chris Sneed (Christy) and Jimmy Sneed; grandchildren, Alex Loy (Peter), Annie Lynch (Danny), Trey Strange (Katelyn), River Sneed, Stone Sneed, Sky Sneed, Brooklyn Long, and Ava Sneed; as well as great-grandchildren, Poppy, Lyleigh, Edwin, and two more on the way. He is also survived by the mother of his children, Ruenell Strange, and his brother, Thomas R. Strange, Sr.
Services for Ronnie will be held on Friday, May 8, 2026 at Mackey Funerals and Cremations at Woodlawn Memorial Park, 1 Pine Knoll Drive, Greenville, SC 29609. A funeral service will be held in the funeral home chapel at 10:00 AM, with commital to take place immediately after in the park. A reception will be held following the committal.
