Born on March 16, 1943, Roy dedicated 36 years of his life to C.J. Brown, Inc. as a skilled carpenter. Following his retirement, he found joy in his faith as a devoted Christian and active member of High Praises Church in Williamston, SC for over 20 years.
Roy's passions extended beyond his work and faith. He cherished spending time outdoors camping, boating, and exploring new places through travel. He was a talented cook, known for his delicious chicken stew, and always found time to savor the company of friends and family who appreciated his quick wit and sense of humor.
The love between him and his wife, Betty, was an inspiration to all. Their 48 years of marriage were a testament to their enduring love and devotion. This unwavering love was beautifully exemplified by Betty's continual care for him in his later years, alongside their granddaughter, Michelle Hester. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, and will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Roy is survived by his beloved wife, Betty; his sister, Faye Dees; his daughters, Tammy Aderhold, Kathy (Rick) Carver, and Sherrie (Alicia) Hester; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his sister, Eva Fullbright; his brother, Charles Brown; and his sons, Marvin Dill and Thomas Dill.
Visitation will be held at High Praises Church, 4506 Midway Road, Williamston, SC from 11:30am to 12:45pm with a celebration of life commencing at 1pm and concluding at 2pm. A graveside service will be held at Woodlawn Memorial Park, 1 Pine Knoll Drive, Greenville SC at 3pm.
“He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away.” Revelation 21:4
