Sandra Fagan Capps, 80, wife of Furman Lee Capps, passed away December 4, 2025. Born on August 18, 1945, in Landrum, South Carolina, she was the daughter of Fred Fagan and Evelyn Bridgeman Fagan.

Sandra was a graduate of Landrum High School, where she was salutatorian in the class of 1965. She was a member of the marching band, which was awarded a trip to New Orleans to participate in the Mardi Gras parade, a highlight of Sandra's high school experience. She then went to Columbia College, where she graduated in 1969.

Following her college graduation, Sandra spent several months in Europe with a tour group, leaving her with special memories of the different countries she visited. She began her teaching career in Charlotte, North Carolina, after which she spent the remainder of her career teaching in Greenville, South Carolina.

She loved playing the piano and was the pianist for several years in her church, Landrum United Methodist Church. Her husband and son, Brian, were the lights of her life, and she especially enjoyed spending time with them and watching Brian participate in school events and sports. For the last many years, Sandra was a member of Aldersgate United Methodist Church.

The last several years of her life were spent as a resident of The Woodlands at Furman Retirement Community, along with her husband, Lee.

Sandra is survived by her husband, Lee, of Greenville and her brother, James, and his wife, Janie, of Gaffney, South Carolina.

In addition to her parents, Sandra was preceded in death by her son, Christopher Brian Capps.

A graveside memorial service will be held at The Remembrance Mausoleum on Tuesday, December 16th at 10am, at Woodlawn Memorial Park, 1901 Wade Hampton Boulevard, Greenville, South Carolina 29609.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Christopher Brian Capps Endowed Memorial Scholarship (B1663) at Clemson University Foundation, PO Box 1889, Clemson, SC 29633, or to the charity of one's choice.
