Sarah D. Gibson

Born in South Carolina, she was the daughter of the late Leon Orr and Edith Ann Speares Davis. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Patricia Davis Iredell and Mary Davis.

Mrs. Gibson was a retired elementary school teacher and was a graduate of Bryan University in Dayton Tenn. and also obtained her Master’s Degree from Converse College in Spartanburg, SC. She is presently a member of Hampton Park Baptist Church as well as having formerly been a member of Southside Baptist in Greenville and Colonial Hills Baptist Church in East Point, GA.

She is survived by her husband: Melton Wayne Gibson of Easley, two step-daughters and their spouses: Rebecca and Thomas Major of Greenville and Gina and Jay Harlan of Easley; a sister: Carole Howard, residing in Ohio, a grandson, Malachi Major, and many greatly loved nieces and nephews and great nieces and great nephews and extended family

Funeral service will be Thursday, December 23, 2010 at 2:00 pm in the chapel of Woodlawn Funeral Home with burial to follow in Woodlawn Memorial Park.

Visitation will be prior to the service from 12:30 – 2:00 pm in the funeral home.
