Obituary of Shirley C Kline
Shirley C. Kline passed quietly in her sleep at her home on July 29, 2022, following a courageous battle with Alzheimer’s. Shirley was born February 24, 1937 in Middletown, Indiana. In 1960, she and her husband, Don, moved to Greenville, SC, which became their beloved home forever. Shirley worked in the accounting department at American Hoechst in Greer until her retirement. Shirley was an avid gardener and bird watcher, loved antique shopping, camping and spending time at The Ridge and Litchfield with family and friends. She was an excellent cook, always ready with a casserole when someone was ill and you could count on her for comfort and friendship in times of need. Oh yes, and there was many a night when you could find her and Don in the kitchen, dancing to a little George Strait or Conway Twitty. She is predeceased by her loving husband of 64 years, Don, her sisters Marylyn and Joyce and brothers Pete, Bud and Rex. She is survived by three daughters; Lisa Vyssotsky (Al), Lori Berry (Steve) and Leslie Norwood; two sisters-in-law Jan Parry and Connie Hummel. She has four grandchildren, Nick Vyssotsky, Mason B. Park (Garrison), Austin Berry and Zelda Vyssotsky and one great grandchild Nora Leigh Park. The family extends their heartfelt thanks to Marie Day, Shirley’s friend and caregiver. Also, many thanks to the staff at Prisma Health Hospice of the Foothills, particularly Jennifer and Nakia who were angels to the end.
