Born on June 17, 1947, in Greenville, South Carolina, Becky was the daughter of Arthur and Dorothy McAllister. She was a proud graduate of Winthrop College and Clemson University, and she dedicated 30 years of her life to serving as a special education teacher in the Greenville County Schools, where fellow teachers and generations of students knew her affectionately as “Ms. Mac.” Her passion for teaching and her deep care for her students left a lasting impact on countless families.
Following her retirement, Becky selflessly cared for her aging parents. Later, she moved to Huntsville, Alabama, where she embraced a new and joyful role helping raise her great-nieces and nephew. She was a proud “third grandmother” to them—rarely missing a sporting event, school activity, or milestone, no matter how big or small. Known affectionately as “Aunt Becky” to an entire circle of children and friends, she brought laughter, spontaneity, and warmth wherever she went.
Becky will be remembered as a true force of nature—funny, spirited, and always ready for the next adventure. Her life was defined by her deep devotion to family and friends, and her presence brought light and joy to all who knew her. Her legacy lives on in the many lives she nurtured and loved.
She is survived by her sister, Linda McAllister Nord of Tampa, Florida; her nephew, Christoph Nord (Janelle Nord) of Tampa, Florida; her niece, Libby Nord McClellan (Randy McClellan) of Huntsville, Alabama; her great-nieces, Anna and Adeline McClellan, Caylyn, Alyssa, and Avery Nord; and her great-nephew, Andrew McClellan.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, April 25, 2026, at 11:30 a.m. at Mackey Funerals and Cremations at Woodlawn Memorial Park, 1 Pine Knoll Drive, Greenville, South Carolina, with her longtime friend Jerry Wylie presiding. Burial will follow at Greenville Memorial Gardens, where she will be laid to rest beside her beloved parents.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Becky’s honor to your local humane society or animal shelter, reflecting her lifelong love for her cherished kitties.
Becky’s life was defined by love, laughter, and an unwavering devotion to family and friends. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
