Born on 4 February 1970 in Shelbyville, TN to Bill and Willie Simmons, Theron “Ron” Coleman Simmons was known for his wit, fun-loving nature, hilarious stories, infectious laugh, and love of cooking and delicious food. He graduated from Middle Tennessee State University with a bachelor's degree and then served in law enforcement in Shelbyville for a few years. Ron then obtained a Juris Doctor from St. Thomas University School of Law in Florida and an LL.M. in Securities and Financial Regulations from Georgetown University School of Law in Washington D.C. He was also board-certified in City, County, & Local Government Law, and admitted in various Florida and federal courts. Ron loved fishing, camping, music, staying abreast of the latest technology, and regularly sharing his astonishment at the ability of his Tesla to drive itself any place he needed to go. Above all, family was of the utmost importance to him. He loved spending quality time with his wife, Millie, and daughter, Isabella, with whom he created a tradition of traveling to visit new places.
Ron passed away suddenly and unexpectedly on 25 December 2025. In addition to his wife and daughter, Ron is survived by his parents, Bill and Willie; his siblings, Bill and Lee; and an extended family of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins who loved him dearly.
A service to celebrate Ron’s life will be held on 2 January 2026, at 1:00 PM at Mackey Funerals and Cremations at Woodlawn Memorial Park 1 Pine Knoll Dr. Greenville, SC 29609
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to any foster or adoption-related charity in Ron’s honor.
