Thomas Cornelius Jones, Sr., 81 of Travelers Rest passed away on Sunday, May 20, 2012. Born in Greenville County, he was the son of the late William Claud and Helen Osteen Jones. He served in the US Army and was the Parts Manager for Climatic Control in Columbia, SC. He is survived by a son: Tommy Jones, Jr. of Travelers Rest; a brother: Wendell Jones of Greenville; five sisters: Juanita Garrett of Charleston, Lorene Peterson of Travelers Rest, Martha Vermillion, Donna Skelton, and Sandra Loftis, all of Greenville; two grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren; special friends: Mary Delage and Mary Ann Gilbert. Tom was predeceased by his wife: Inez Bates Jones; a daughter: Deborah Arlene Jones Cobb; four brothers: Virgil, Hoyle, Curtis, and Elam Jones. Funeral Service will be Wednesday, May 23, 2012 at 3:00 pm in the chapel of Woodlawn Funeral Home with burial to follow in Woodlawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be prior to the service from 1:30 pm to 3:00 pm in the funeral home.
