Valerie Waldron Getchell

Born in Denver, Colorado, she was the daughter of the late J. Eldridge Waldron Jr. and Muriel Dickinson Barnes, and was predeceased by her husband of 67 years, Eugene (Gene) Ollie Getchell. Val attended the University of Colorado and served as an administrative professional in the healthcare industry. She and Gene spent 59 years in Lexington, Kentucky and were active parishioners of Christ Church Cathedral. Val was also active in many organizations, including the Delta Beta chapter of Delta Gamma and PEO.

Val is survived by daughters Gail Brooks (Kevin) of Bowling Green, KY and Gretchen Erwin (Joe) of Greenville, SC; grandchildren, Christopher, Emily, Douglas and Valerie; great grandchildren, Brooks, Ellie, Vaden, Halsey and Charlie; and niece, Paula Whisner.
