Born in Greenville, he was the son of the late William H. and Mamie Kellett Pitts. He was a graduate of Wade Hampton High School and attended Anderson College. He was retired from the furniture industry, headquartered in High Point, NC.
He is survived by a daughter, Angela Pitts of Charleston, SC, sister Brenda P. Barker, nephew Allen T. Barker, Jr. of Greenville, SC, great-niece Kelsay Barker, and numerous cousins.
Committal services were held February 24 at Woodlawn Memorial Park.
