Born in Greenwich, CT, Al was the son of Stanley and Alice. He attended Greenwich Public Schools, and was employed at CT Natural Gas as a Backhoe Operator. He enjoyed gardening and will be remembered for his smile and gentle nature.
Al is survived by his children, Allison and Jonathan Collett of South Glastonbury, CT, Beth and Michael Martin of Bristol, CT, and Heather Barren and fiancée Andrew Mallery of Florissant, MO. He is also survived by his grandchildren Michael (Sarah), Jacob, and Elizabeth Martin, Henry and Jackson Collett, and Grace and Lila Barren. He is also survived by his sister, Janet Cappetta of New Rochelle, NY. Al was predeceased by his wife Helen and son-in-law Andre Barren.
Friends are invited to calling hours on Friday, September 22nd at 10:00 a.m., followed by a funeral service at 11:00 a.m. at Leo P. Gallagher & Son Funeral Home, 31 Arch Street, Greenwich, CT 06830. Interment to immediately follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery, 1 High Street, Rye Brook, NY 10573.
