Fe Roa Joaquin, age 78, of Cos Cob, Connecticut transitioned peacefully into eternal life on Monday, August 1, 2022. Fe was born to Alfonso Roa and Escolastica Delos Reyes Roa on November 1, 1943, in Pilar Bataan, Philippines.
Fe married the late Alfredo Joaquin and together they raised four children. She migrated to the United States in 1986 and settled in Greenwich, Connecticut. It was in Greenwich that Fe planted roots and she remained a resident for almost forty years. Fe was one of the first Filipino immigrants that lived in the Greenwich community- a legacy that is proudly acknowledged by her family.
For many years Fe worked as a housekeeper, nanny, and cook in private family homes. Later in her career, she began work as a home companion and caretaker for the elderly.
She was a long-time member of St. Mary Parish on Greenwich Avenue and held a deep and sustaining faith. Each Fall, she would look forward to attending First Presbyterian Church of Greenwich’s Annual Thanksgiving Celebration for Greenwich seniors. Her sheer enjoyment of this event was captured and featured in the local newspaper’s yearly coverage of the celebration.
Of the many activities Fe enjoyed over the years, gardening and cooking were her absolute favorites. Her green thumb led to an abundance of houseplants that could be enjoyed by guests throughout the whole year.
Fe will be remembered as a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She is survived by her son Lorenzo Dino and his children Lorendino and Lorelyn Dino; son AlexTito Dino his son Carl Wendell Dino; son Dennis Joaquin and his children, Shanice, Shane, Shyna and Shairo Joaquin; daughter Katherine Ng and her husband Cliff, and their children; Jose Silvoza, Jordan Ng, Kayla Ng and Samantha Ng.
