
Horace grew up in West Orange, NJ. He graduated from West Orange High School in 1936. After high school he attended university at Rutgers in Newark where he received a BBA in accounting, and received his CPA. He joined the Merchant Marine and served as ship’s medic in World War Two, achieving the rank of ensign and purser.
Horace enjoyed a long professional career serving in executive positions with Palmolive Peet Co., Keebler, Fairbanks Whitney Corp, Arthur Andersen, General Time, AMF, and King Industries.
He worked well into his late eighties, retiring as a personal financial consultant.
Horace married Ruth, the love of his life, in 1938 and they were happily married for 75 years.
Horace was a member of Greenwich Country Club and Dingletown Community Church. He enjoyed jogging and competitive running, winning many first and second place Jim Fixx race trophies and awards.
He was preceded in death by his wife Ruth Davis Wright Walton, and brother Walter B. Walton and is survived by his sister, Dona M. Greco of Palm Harbor, Florida; many nieces and nephews, and other relatives.
Horace and Ruth greatly appreciated the love and attention of caregiver Verna Tapper.
