Loving wife of John Hyland, mother of Annmary, Michael, Patrice, John, Maura and Peter and grandmother to Bobby, Mikey, Matthew, Johnny, Emma, Anne, Bissy, Jennifer, Daniel, Geoffrey, Helen, Thompson and Brownwyn, who will all miss her deeply.
Maureen grew up in Brooklyn, New York, born on March 6, 1931. The daughter of Ann and George Thompson, she graduated from Fontbonne Hall. She is also survived by her two loving sisters Ursula and Geri.
For anyone who ever knew Maureen, what we will miss most is her incredible sense of humor, her keen wit and beautiful soprano voice among her many, many talents. No one could “knit and Sew” like Maureen - literally hundreds of her works of art adorn her home, and the homes of her sons and daughters.
The family will receive relatives and friends on Wednesday, December 18th between the hours of 2 and 4 and again from 7 to 9 at the Leo P. Gallagher & Son Funeral Home, 31 Arch St. Greenwich, CT. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, December 19th at 11am at Saint Michael the Archangel Parish 469 North Street, Greenwich, CT 06830.
