Robert Warren Taylor

Son of Harry F. Taylor and Agnes M. (O’Mara) Taylor of Greenwich, he was born August 12, 1929. He is survived by his wife Dorothy Taylor and his children Robert, Chris, Ann and Michael. He is the beloved grandfather of O’Mara, Allyson, Grace, Olivia, Isabelle, and Maitreya.

Bob graduated from Greenwich High School in 1947. After completing Officer Candidate School, he served in the Korean War as first lieutenant. After his service, Bob earned bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Business Administration from Pace University. He enjoyed a 40-year career in the Bell System rising through the ranks to become Division Manager of Operations in Westchester. After retirement Bob worked for 19 years at the Greenwich Library in the periodicals section. A devoted runner, he could often be seen running the back roads of Greenwich well into his 70’s.

Calling hours will be held at Leo P. Gallagher & Son Funeral Home, 31 Arch Street Greenwich, CT on Wednesday, March 18th from 4 to 8PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at Saint Michael the Archangel Parish, 469 North Street, Greenwich, CT on Thursday, March 19th at 10:30AM. Burial will follow at Greenwood Union Cemetery, 215 North Street Rye, NY.
