Alex Andrew Gustafson, of Greenwood, Arkansas passed away Saturday, December 6, 2025 in Little Rock, at the age of 33 leaving behind a legacy of love, dedication, creativity, and unwavering passion. Alex was born and raised in Plano, Texas. He attended the University of Arkansas and furthering his education at Uark Law School.
Alex grew into a remarkable man whose presence made every room brighter and every day fuller for those fortunate enough to know him. A devoted son, brother, and friend, Alex lived his life with a fierce and generous heart. He was a passionate attorney, committed to standing up for others and working for what he believed was right. His sharp mind, strong work ethic, and ability to connect with people made him a committed lawyer.
Alex was also a true sports enthusiast. He loved all things sports—from the thrill of Arkansas sports (Woo Pig Sooie) to cheering on the Dallas Mavericks, the Dallas Stars and the Dallas Cowboys. Whether watching a game with family or discussing the latest plays with friends, his excitement was contagious and his loyalty unwavering. His passions stretched far beyond the field. Alex had a deep love for music and was known for creating heartfelt raps songs that showcased both his talent, his hopes and dreams, his heartbreaks and his vibrant personality. He also loved golf and spent countless hours on the course—always striving to perfect his swing, always enjoying the company of those who joined him.
But above all else, Alex was an extraordinary friend. He had an unmatched ability to make people feel valued, seen, and supported. His kindness, humor, and willingness to show up for others made him the kind of friend everyone hopes to have. He loved fiercely and wholeheartedly, and that love will continue to echo through the many lives he touched.
Alex is survived by his loving parents, Kim and John Gustafson and his little sister, Madison Baggett, who adored him. His family, along with countless friends, colleagues, and loved ones, will forever carry his memory in their hearts.
Alex’s life was one of passion, purpose, and profound love. He will be remembered always for the joy he brought, the laughter he inspired, the music he created, and the powerful mark he left on the world.
A memorial service to celebrate Alex will be held 2 p.m., Tuesday, December 16 at McConnell Funeral Home Chapel in Greenwood.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests sock donations in his memory. Alex had a rather large sock collection and was never without his funky socks—bright patterns with his courtroom suit or tall, wild socks with his shorts.
These donations will be distributed by the Junior League of Fort Smith to local organizations serving those in need, including the Community Rescue Mission. The socks can be dropped off at the memorial service or JLFS can accept donations delivered to their headquarters at 311 Garrison Ave., Fort Smith, AR 72901.
