I can still see your smile when Kim and I would stop by for an unannounced visit!  You seemed absolutely delighted we were there.  You gave the best bear hugs ever.

Elaine and all of your family, I am so sorry for your great loss.  I know you are missing him so badly and your mom as well. Think about them together in Heaven, though; what a wonderful thought, AND with Jesus!!! Can't get any better than that. All of you are in my prayers today for the service and in the days to come!! He never once complained, had such a wonderful sense of humor! We were blessed to be able to get to know such a wonderful man.

I remember Uncle Sonny driving up in his truck. Elaine and I were shucking corn on their front porch. He walked up, dressed in his  overalls, and began to talk and tease with us.  He kept telling us that 'this isn't hot' which of course it was very hot summertime.  He always wanted to feed me anytime I visited.  First thing was always 'are you hungry?' I loved him so much and consider blessed to have had him as an uncle.  He was such a good loving man. I will miss him.

God blessed our family with some exceptional family members and your dad was most definitely one of those.  He was one of the kindest people who shared his love with so many.  I have sweet memories of him driving your mom to the beauty shop and  mom and Billie catching a quick visit.  He was so patient with whatever she needed him to do.  May your heart be full of such good memories to last a lifetime.  I know you miss him so. Dave, Elaine, and Grady, May you feel our prayers.

I always enjoyed Sonny’s humor and stories.  He was always so pleasant to be around. His loss will be felt for a long time to come. My condolences to his family

Private Graveside Service

Mr. Clopton is survived by his two sons, Dave Clopton and his wife, Tanoka of Texarkana, Arkansas and Grady Clopton and his wife, Cathy of Huntington; a daughter, Elaine Rogers and husband, Bill of Fordyce; five grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Billie and two sisters, Bobbie Gleason and Barbara Brooks.
