Faithful husband, loving father, and adoring grandfather, William “Bill” Shibley, 60, of Greenwood, Arkansas joined his Lord and Savior on January 31, 2022. Bill was born in Fort Smith, Arkansas on January 2, 1962.
Bill gave his all to everything he did, including the service to his community. Bill served with the Sebastian County Sheriff’s Department for more than 22 years and was a member of the Jenny Lind Masonic Lodge #503 F&AM. Bill never met a stranger and always had a story to tell. He was larger than life and had the best of laughs.
Bill was the most loyal of friend, but above all, Bill adored his family. He met his wife, Kim as children and together they built a wonderful life. In recent years, you would rarely find Bill without a grandchild or his best buddy, Winston in tow.
He is survived by his wife, Kim; two sons, Tyler Shibley and Taylor Shibley; one daughter, Tia Shibley; mother, Audrey Brewer; six brothers, Jim Shibley, Bucky Shibley, Dewayne Shibley, Jesse Shibley, James Gray and Frank Noland; three sisters, Jody Benoit, Mary Peugh and Brenda Frederiksen and 13 grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his father, George W. Shibley and nephews Aaron Godwin and Nathaniel Benoit.
Funeral service will be 10 a.m., Monday, February 7 at Greenwood First Baptist Church with burial at Gilliam Cemetery under the direction of McConnell Funeral Home of Greenwood. Viewing will be Sunday from 2:30 – 6 p.m. at Greenwood First Baptist Church, where the family will visit with friends from 4 – 6 p.m.
Pallbearers will be the Sebastian County Sheriff’s Office Honor Guard. Honorary pallbearers will be members of Jenny Lind Masonic Lodge #503 F&AM.
