Billy Ray Peerson, 82, of Bonanza, Arkansas passed away Monday, August 18, 2025 in Fort Smith. He was born February 23, 1943 in Fort Smith to Ambrose Alexander and Margie Mae (Hawthorne) Peerson. He was an Army veteran of the Vietnam War, an avid Arkansas Razorback fan and retired from Fort Chaffee.
He is survived by two sisters, Cathy Alexander and Teri Roth and husband, Nathan; two very special nieces, Sydney Wood and husband, Mitchell and Payton Martin; great nephew, Bodhi Wood; sister-in-law, Katherine Peerson and many other nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, John Peerson.
Funeral service with military honors will be 10 a.m., Friday, August 22 at McConnell Funeral Home Chapel in Greenwood. Burial will be at the Fort Smith National Cemetery. Viewing will begin at 9 a.m. on Friday before the service.
