Delonace grew up on a farm in Northeast Iowa, attended country school through 7th grade, then went to school in Maynard, Iowa and graduated with the class of 1946. After graduating, she moved to Chicago, IL and studied to become an X-ray technician. There she met her future husband, Ken. After Ken graduated from optometry school, they relocated to Oelwein, IA. She was a member of Christ United Presbyterian Church, PEO, and a member of Tuesday Tourist Club. She worked part-time in the X-ray Department at Mercy Hospital in Oelwein, IA. When Ken retired, they moved to Grand Marais, MN. Due to Ken’s declining health, they moved to Greenwood to be closer to family.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ken, a son, David and three brothers. She is survived by four daughters, Susan Hoven and husband, Phil of Waterloo, IA, Peg Owens and husband, Mike of Holland, MI, Deb Card and husband, Rick of Greenwood and Jill Dursky and husband, Dan of Pella, IA, eight grandchildren, Kendra, Chris, Amanda, Mitch, Whitney, Kyle, Nikki and Taylor and 13 great grandchildren.
A private memorial will be held in Greenwood, Arkansas on October 15, 2021. Cremation is under the direction of McConnell Funeral Home of Greenwood.
