I worked with  Dixie at Walmart.  Great memories 



Mrs. Dixie was one of the most kind individuals I had ever met. I still remember as a kid always wanting to find her red square at the old Wal-Mart in Fort Smith and getting the homemade Christmas cookies every year.  She always had a smile on her face and treated everyone like family. 

Dixie always had a smile on her face.  Growing up at First Baptist Mansfield, I was blessed by her and her family.  My favorite memory of Dixie is my wedding day.  Our cake creator had to cancel a few weeks before the wedding.  Dixie stepped in to make a beautiful, delicious wedding cake and groom's cake.

     I first got to know Dixie riding to work at Wal-Mart with her. I had just transferred from a Sulphur Springs, Texas Wal-Mart.  She was funny, sweet and such a strong Christian.  She made the most beautiful & amazing cakes and desserts.  I would just picks ones from the photo album, to see them made. For my brother Roger& Dad's B-Day. I picked one with a pond, fisherman leaning on a tree, ducks, turtles etc. .  . ; my other brother, Neal a sailboat on a big wave. And for my son's 4th Birthday Spider-Man crawling across the cake. Her orginal on the spot idea. Mom & Dad's wedding style 40th anniversary cake & many others. I also worked with her many times during Vacation Bible school and on Wednesday nights with Pre-K and Kindergarten children. She will sorely be missed. I do know that I will see her again in our true home.

My thoughts and prayers are with you all during this difficult time. I have many memories during our Upward Basketball seasons at Mansfield FBC. She was a lovely woman inside and out. Lisa Nichols

Mrs Dixie was just one of the most adorable sweetest ladies ive ever known. Growing up my Mom used nobody else but her to make all our cakes, no matter the occasion. And they were the best ones ever.  I still remember sitting in her livingroom looking through all her photo albums at the cakes she’s made through the yrs.  And when she had the 3 baby skunks that would follow her on her morning walks. And her involvement in every church activity, she was always there to bring her homemade goodies & her sweet smile.  Everyone loved her so much. She will be missed. ❤️
