Don Francis Johnson

Don Francis Johnson (December 31, 1948 – July 12, 2011) passed away Tuesday, July 12, 2011 after suffering a heart attack and collapsing near the finish line of a 5k race in Little Rock. Donnie received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Mathematics from the University of Arkansas in 1973. He was a practicing certified public accountant in Booneville, Arkansas since 1987. He was a true life long learner with ongoing interests in science, art, literature and music. He also loved sports, both as a spectator and participant. He regularly biked, ran, lifted weights and played baseball and golf.

He is survived by his wife, Kay Johnson; son and daughter-in-law, Lee and Jennifer Johnson and their children, Will, Luke and Wesley; son and daughter-in-law, Brad and Sandy Johnson and their children Mark and Anna all of Greenwood; his mother Ruby Johnson, age 93 also of Greenwood and a sister-in-law, Jane Johnson of Tulsa, Oklahoma. He was preceded in death by his father, Herman Johnson and his brother, Johnny Karr Johnson.

Funeral service will be 10 a.m. Friday, July 15, 2011 at the Greenwood Performing Arts Center with burial at Washburn Cemetery under the direction of McConnell Funeral Home of Greenwood. Viewing will be Thursday from 1 – 9 pm at the funeral home, where the family will visit with friends from 6 – 8 pm. Remembrances of flowers may be sent to the funeral home or memorial donations may be made to the Greenwood Education Foundation, in care of Jo Ella Skaggs, 420 No. Main St., Greenwood, AR 72936.
