Forest Wayne Carter, 75, of Huntington, Arkansas passed away peacefully at home on July 1, 2022, after a courageous battle with Creutzfeldt - Jakob Disease. Forest was born in Fort Smith, Arkansas on April 1, 1947 to Forest and Francis Carter. Forest was a proud Army Veteran of the Vietnam War. He retired from Dixie Cup and Ben E. Keith. Forest was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping and watching his grandchildren’s sporting events and playing cards.
Forest was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his beloved wife, Lori; son, Steve; daughter, Tonnia and husband, Allen; stepchildren, Jason and wife, Ashley, Amber and husband, Kyle and Michelle and husband, Billy; twelve grandchildren; two great grandchildren; brother, Ed and wife, Cathy; sister, Gwen and numerous family and friends.
Forest will be greatly missed by all who knew him, for he was truly one of the best guys ever. To know Forest, was a great honor and a privilege.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Friday, July 8 at McConnell Funeral Home Chapel in Greenwood with Rev. Kyle Elmore officiating and burial with military honors at the U.S. National Cemetery in Fort Smith. Viewing will be Thursday from 1-7 p.m. at the funeral home, where the family will visit with friends from 5-7 p.m.
Pallbearers will be Steven Wayne Carter, Billy Edward Turnipseed, Tyler Cole Turnipseed, Shawn Kennedy Chosy, Corey Lee Lamproe and Jude Avey Bartholamew.
