Gary Wayne Pettway

Gary Wayne Pettway, 67, of Charleston, Arkansas passed away on Tuesday, July 22, 2025, surrounded by his family. He was born on November 8, 1957 in Texarkana, Texas to the late Duke and Verna Pettway.

Gary was a loving father to his three children, Chris Pettway, Lakin Brown and Josie Pettway. He was a proud grandfather to four grandchildren, Blaine, Mason, Maxx and Hazel.

Gary loved spending time with family and friends. He had a generous heart for helping people in need. Gary was entrepreneur, developer and business owner. He loved the outdoors and was an avid hunter.

Gary is preceded in death by his parents, Duke and Verna Pettway. He is survived by his three children, Chris Pettway and wife, Danielle, Lakin Brown and husband, Jeremy and Josie Pettway; four grandchildren, Blaine Pettway, Mason Brown, Maxx Brown and Hazel Pettway; his significant other, Amber Warren and her daughter, Audrey Warren of the home; five siblings, Bill Pettway and wife, Patty, Sandy Goodwin and husband, Joe, Ron Pettway and wife, Phyllis, David South and wife, Julie, Linda (Strawser) Kolker and husband, Steve and Sheila Dolan and husband, Dennis and many nieces, nephews and cousins, whom he loved dearly.

Graveside service will be 10 a.m., Friday, July 25 at Liberty Cemetery in Greenwood under the direction of McConnell Funeral Home of Greenwood. Viewing will be Thursday from 5 – 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
