Grady Porter, 89, of Austin, Texas, formerly of Greenwood, passed away Thursday, January 14, 2016 in Austin, TX. He was a retired Teamster and worked for Yellow Freight and Coca-Cola. He was a Methodist, an Army veteran of World War II and was preceded in death by his wife, Bettye Jo Gilmore Porter.
Funeral service will be 10 a.m., Monday, January 18, 2016 at McConnell Funeral Home Chapel in Greenwood with interment at Liberty Cemetery with military honors.
He is survived by three sons, Joseph M. Porter of Jenny Lind, Gary D. Porter of Austin,Texas and Thomas M. Porter of Greenwood; two daughters, Mary Kathlena Steele of Austin,Texas and Margaila Kretchmar of Alexandria, VA.; eight grandchildren, three great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.
Pallbearers will be grandsons.
