Helen Irene Nichols

Helen Irene Nichols, 81, of Greenwood, Arkansas passed away Tuesday, May 6, 2025 in her home. Helen was born December 8, 1943 in Bonanza, Arkansas to Oscar Edward and Violet Leona (Beam) Williams. She was a retired pastor, working as the women’s chaplain in the Soledad State Prison in California for many years.

She is survived by her husband, John J. Nichols, Jr.; one son, Mark Nichols; two daughters, Kimberlee Gonzalez and Karla Dunn; six grandchildren, Cody Nichols, Travis Nichols, Cody Dunn, Megan Gonzalez, Allison Gonzalez and Anthony Gonzalez and three great grandchildren.

Cremation is under the direction of McConnell Funeral Home of Greenwood.
