James D. ''Jim" Cotner

James D. “Jim” Cotner, 91, of Fort Smith, Arkansas passed away Monday, December 8, 2025 in his home. He was born October 24, 1934 in Dayton, Arkansas to G.D. and Helen (Hickerson) Cotner. He was retired from Whirlpool, member of James Fork Baptist Church and a veteran of the U.S. Air Force. He loved to hunt and fish and was an avid outdoors man.

He is survived by his wife, Jo Verna Cotner; one daughter, Cynthia Cotner and husband, Arthur Casanova of Fort Smith; two grandchildren, Elizabeth and Joseph; two great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Tom Cotner, Joe Bill Cotner and Charles Lee Cotner and one sister, Betty Bucella.
