James Lawrence Rains, Sr., 70, of Greenwood, Arkansas passed away Sunday, April 24, 2022 in a Fort Smith hospital. He was retired from the oilfield.

He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Patty Rains; one son, Jason Rains and wife, Ivette of Hinesville, Georgia; three sisters, Linda Hoyle of Shady Point, Rose Lafferty and husband, Kenny of Lavaca and Elizabeth Avong and husband, Charles of Granite Falls, North Carolina and two grandchildren, Kylie and Sophia of Hinesville, Georgia. He was preceded in death by a son, James Rains, Jr. and brother, Jerry Rains.

Cremation is under the direction of McConnell Funeral Home of Greenwood.
