Joe Terry

Joe Terry, 83, of Fort Smith, died Thursday, April 3 2014 in Fort Smith. He was retired from GTE, a veteran of the U.S. Navy and Korean War, a member of Grace Community Church, and an avid golfer, and baseball and rodeo fan.

Graveside service will be 12:00 noon Monday, April 7 at U.S. National Cemetery in Fort Smith under the direction of McConnell Funeral Home of Greenwood. Viewing will be 1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home, where the family will visit with friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.

He is survived by his wife of sixty-three years, Betty Charlene Terry; two daughters, Charlotte Dycus and husband Bert of New Braunfels, Texas, and Debi Vordick and husband Mike of San Marcos, Texas; one son, Billy Terry and wife Christy of Fort Smith; two sisters, Dorthy Dolan of Greenwood, and Mary Bell Matthews and husband Elmo of Fort Smith; five grandsons and four great-grandsons.

Honorary pallbearers will be Bryan Dycus, Kyle Dycus, Travis Vordick, Tyson Vordick, Seth Terry, and Randy McRoberts.
