Linda Dale Blount Bartlett Morgan, 76, passed away peacefully at her home in Mansfield, Arkansas on February 24, 2025. Born Linda Dale Blount on January 1, 1949, to J.D. Blount and Dorothy Jane (nee Layne) in Fort Smith, Arkansas, Linda was an advocate and avid fighter for her sisters, Connie Lee and Jacalyn Inez. At the age of 16, Linda married her first love, Arnold Wayne Bartlett. They shared 36 years of marriage and four children. After his death in 2001, Linda found love again and married Joe Morgan in 2002.
If she wasn’t playing her mandolin or upright bass, quilting or researching ancestry, Linda enjoyed nothing more than gathering her family together to share stories and laughter. Linda also loved to be dressed up for every occasion and would rarely be caught without a bright dress, hair fixed, makeup on and enough jewelry to outshine the sun.
Her family will remember her as a woman full of music, grace, and her signature feistiness. Linda cherished her relationship with God and always had a prayer for anyone that needed it. A loving mother and caring Meme, her children and grandchildren will recall Linda as the rock of the family.
Linda is preceded in death by her first husband, Arnold Wayne Bartlett; her father, J.D. Blount; her mother, Dorothy Layne; sisters, Connie Fildes and Jacalyn Crouch and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
