Martha Stewart Terry passed away on Tuesday, April 21, 2026 in Greenwood. Martha was born on March 12, 1934, to Harlan (Jake) and Ruth Ann Stewart. She spent her entire life in Greenwood on Bass Street. She grew up on Bass Street and later married and built her forever home purchased from Governor Bass Little’s property in 1962. She loved her home and her neighbors on Bass Street, many who became lifelong friends. Martha was a music major in college, taught elementary school and later became business partner at Stewart Drug with her spouse of 44 years, John Terry.
Martha was a strong woman, confident, steady, and full of wisdom. She was gifted in the art of conversation and loved nothing more than a good visit. She had a quick wit and marvelous sense of humor. People were naturally drawn to her and she to them. She had many treasured relationships in the community of Greenwood. She was steadfast in her support of the Greenwood United Methodist Church and served her faith community throughout her lifetime. Martha had creative flare which showed up in the way she decorated her home, tended her garden, and shared her gifts of hospitality from the kitchen. She will be remembered for many things but loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother, and friend to all will be her proudest legacy.
Martha is survived by her beloved sister, Mary Richardson of Greenwood Arkansas; daughter, Sarah Keehn (Fred) of Tulsa, Oklahoma; son, John David (Donna) of Mt. Ida, Arkansas and grandchildren, Charles Dawson Keehn, Ann Marie Keehn, Tyler Burdine and Mackenzie Whisenhunt. Martha was preceded in death by her adored husband, John Terry.
