Mary Schneider

Mary A. Schneider, 79 of Greenwood, Arkansas was welcomed into the arms of her Savior July 2, 2022. Mary found such joy in her time at church, baking cookies, taking pictures and spending time with her family and friends.

While her children were in school, Mary loved babysitting in her home. Several years later, Mary enjoyed her time working at Alice’s Diner and volunteering in her church food pantry with friends.

Mary was born May 11, 1943 to the late Andrew Jackson Johnston and wife, Dolly Vesta (Pierson) Johnston. She was preceded in death by husband, Carl; daughter, Joeann Hall; brothers, Acie Pearson and Raymond (Jerry) Johnston and sister, Isabell Plymale.

Funeral service will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, July 6 in McConnell Funeral Home Chapel in Greenwood, Arkansas with interment in the National Cemetery in Fort Smith. Viewing and visitation will be one hour before the service.

She is survived by her son, Carl Schneider, Jr and wife, Christine of Fort Smith; son in law, Gary Hall and wife, Kathy of Muldrow; sisters, Floy Talley of Russellville and Reba Bray of Greenwood and brother, Jimmy Johnston and wife, Dee of California. Mary was the proud grandparent of four grandchildren and five great grandchildren.

Honorary pallbearers will be Craig Qualls, Dennis Guillory, Bobby Shibley, Leo Boozman, Johnny Moore, Robert Drew, Greg Qualls and Russell Moran.
