Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, February 26 at McConnell Funeral Home Chapel in Greenwood with burial at White Bluff Cemetery. Viewing will be Tuesday from 1 – 8 p.m. at the funeral home, where the family will visit with friends from 6 – 8 p.m.
She is survived by two sons, Joe Newman of Fort Smith and Danny Newman of Arkoma; three daughters, Suzie Smith of Central City, Diane Newman of Fort Smith and Marilyn Long of Woodward, OK; one sister, Ruby Minks of Fort Smith; 25 grandchildren and 48 great grandchildren. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, Jim and Minnie Sweeten; three sons, James Allen, Charles Edward and Richard Dewayne Newman; three brothers and two sisters.
Pallbearers will be Chris Long, Willie Long, Clinton Long, Charley Long, Brandon Newman and Jessie Dugan.
