Pamela Kay (Holcomb) Christian, 68, of Fort Smith, Arkansas passed away on May 8, 2025. She was born on September 8, 1956 in Fort Chaffee Hospital to Patsy Ellen (Gattis) and Warren Earl Holcomb. Pam spent most of her younger years in San Diego, California, while her father served in the U.S. Navy. She helped her mother look after her younger brothers, played her favorite sport, softball, and participated in the local Baptist church youth group. Pam and her family moved back to the Greenwood area in 1972, where she finished high school during which time she met and married Frank Rhyne. They were married for 14 years and had two children, Misty and Bobby.
In April of 1987, Pam and James Christian married. They enjoyed trout fishing, taking random road trips, and caring for their grandchildren. They were married for 38 years until her passing.
Pam was preceded in death by her father, Warren Earl Holcomb, paternal grandparents, Newton and Ola Mae Holcomb and maternal grandparents, Floyd and Pansy Gattis. Pam is survived by her spouse, James Earl Christian; her mother, Patsy Holcomb; two brothers, Ronald Holcomb (Sue) and David Holcomb (Brenda); one daughter, Misty Martin and spouse, Aaron; one son, Bobby Rhyne; six grandchildren, Ryan Martin (Barbie), Rachel Oliver (Tyler), Clay Rhyne (Lacey), Emily Helms (Coty), Tristan Rhyne and Kaylee Rhyne, along with eight great-grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral service will be 10 a.m., Wednesday, May 14 at McConnell Funeral Home Chapel in Greenwood with burial at Steep Hill Cemetery. Viewing will be Tuesday from 1 – 7 p.m. at the funeral home, where the family will visit with friends from 5 – 7 p.m.
Pallbearers will be Justin Edwards, Aaron Martin, Ryan Martin, Coty Helms, Clayton Rhyne, and Tristan Rhyne.
