Ramona Boone Thomas, 87, passed away on October 23, 2023 in Santa Fe, New Mexico. She hailed from Greenwood, Arkansas, graduating from Greenwood High in 1954 and even played high school basketball at 5'2". In 1955, she married Paul Edward Thomas, sharing a life of adventures across the U.S., embracing crossword puzzles, daily walks, and exploring national parks.
She is survived by her three daughters, Judy Lerwick of Ashville, North Carolina, Laura Kury of White Rock, New Mexico and Paula VonAtzingen of Vermont; son, Ron Thomas of Seattle, Washington; sister, Sue Boone; brother, Charles Boone, along with six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Ramona's spirit lives on, inspiring us to cherish loved ones and embrace life's adventures.
Ramona was the family's heart and soul, her love fierce and unwavering. Her legacy is one of strength and devotion. Funeral service will be held 2 p.m., Wednesday, November 1 at McConnell Funeral Home Chapel with burial at Dawson Cemetery in Milltown. Viewing will be Tuesday from 2 – 4 p.m. at the funeral home and also on Wednesday before the service.
